Conor Moran

Conor Moran hails from rural Western Massachusetts, spending his formative years exploring the woods, skiing, camping, and developing his love for exploring the wilderness. 

After getting his Bachelor’s Degree from Westfield State College in English with minors in philosophy and film he worked as a special needs educator. He moved to Western Boulder County in 2004 to work with adjudicated youth as a team lead for Boulder County Juvenile Justice Center’s wilderness program. 

Conor and has a background in education, outdoor education, wilderness guiding, and Wilderness Medicine.  He has used his emergency medical training professionally from deep in the Australian wilderness to well above tree line in Rocky Mountain National park as well on large wildland fire deployments. 

Conor has worked in emergency services in Boulder County since 2007 and brings a wealth of varied medical experience obtained over the last 17 years.  He has three children, too many pets to count, and has pre-fatherhood memories of hobbies that include snowboarding, playing keyboards in working bands, writing and exploring the world.

Conor was a  former career LT/Paramedic with Nederland Fire and is honored and excited to have been selected as the new Captain at Nederland Fire.
