Eric Abramson

Captain

Captain Abramson’s interest in emergency services began with his involvement in New Hampshire's Appalachian Mountain Club's Search and Rescue program. He has served with Nederland Fire since 1997. Abramson attended Avista Hospital's EMT program in 2002, and attended the Boulder County Structure Fire Academy in 2003. He has worked as a wildland fire engine crew member with the United States Forest Service and is a former Ski Patrol Dispatcher and Patroller with the Eldora Ski Area. Abramson received a Bachelor’s of Art in Journalism with a focus on Broadcast Television  from The University of Colorado and currently earns his living as Director/Cameraman. Capt. Abramson has a broad background in structure and wildland fire, rescue and EMS. He is dedicated to protecting the environment and serving the community of Nederland

Mike Smith

Captain

Captain Smith started with the District in 2001. He rapidly completed EMT and Structure Fire Training. Smith seasonally works for the United States Forest Service as an Lead Fire Engine Operator and is the Director of Ski Patrol at a local resort. Previously he has worked as a career Firefighter and is the former Emergency Services Coordinator for Archuleta County. He is a former instructor at the Boulder County Structure Fire Academy, and is currently active teaching Level II Avalanche courses. Mike has a broad range of emergency services skills including technical and avalanche rescue.  

Patrick richardson

Training Specialist

Specialist Richardson has over 16 years of fire service experience starting his career with California Dept. of Forestry. He currently is a career Lieutenant/ Paramedic with Castle Rock Fire. Specialist Richardson maintains Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor I, Firefighter II and Haz- Mat Ops. Specialist Richardson also brings a number of wildland qualifications including ICT-4, Dozer Boss and Engine Boss. Along with attending the National Fire Academy Specialist Richardson has completed I-200, 300, 400 (Advanced Incident Command System) and NIMS IS-700 and IS-800. Specialist Richardson has brought a great amount of depth to our structure and wildland fire training. Specialist Richardson currently instructs with the Boulder County Structural Fire Academy.  

Russ Panneton

Lieutenant

Lieutenant Panneton started with Nederland Fire in 1999, he has primary specialized in wildland fire and incident management. Panneton's extensive experience in management in the private sector has proven invaluable to the District. His technical background includes having worked as a radio tech in the military and computer system expertise.
