Nederland Fire is composed of the following positions and staffing:

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors provide oversight to District operations, budget and long range planning. The board is composed of 5 members elected in general or special election by voters within the District Boundary. Positions within the Board are then voted on by the Board and filled at the first meeting following an election. The Department is proud of their work and diversified nature of it's Board Members. 

 
Chief Officers

Chief Officers include the Chief, Assistant Chief and Division or Battalion Chiefs. These officers are commonly distinguished on the fireground by their white helmets. They provide oversight on aspects of department administration, emergency response and work closely with Board on long range planning. 

 
Command Staff

Are typically Lieutenant and Captain ranked personnel who provide front line supervision of fire department members. They are responsible for the enforcement of District policy and work with Chief Officers in the delivery of training and identification of Departmental needs.

 
Administrative Staff
Administrative staff run the day to day business end of the District. The Administrator, Fire Mechanic and Bookkeeper are currently included in this group. They report directly to the Chief.
 
Career Staff
Firefighter/EMTs hired by the District to work specific shifts providing emergency response coverage and added value services to the District.
 
Volunteer Members
Volunteers provide the majority of emergency response coverage, they also assist in community events and participate in various committee level activities to improve the Department.
